Requirements

Candidates should possess a Master’s degree (10 years’ experience) or a Bachelor’s degree (14 years’ experience) in Engineering or Mathematics, such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems, along with experience in research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility, including database maintenance within an application area. Applicants should have experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and be familiar with implementing modern software development methodologies like Agile and DevOps/DevSecOps. Furthermore, candidates are expected to hold a Cloud Computing vendor architecture certification and an Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.

Responsibilities

The Solution Architect Lead will gather requirements for Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud-based system deployments and system transitions, architect and plan migrations to commercial cloud service providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, and similar platforms, act as a technical lead on a team of architects, leading the design and recommendation for the best solution, work with end users and application experts to elicit requirements for designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems in cloud-based systems, plan lift and shift and data migration activities to and from cloud-based systems, select appropriate cloud services based on data, database, or security requirements, manage the integration with on-premises enterprise networks and systems, identify appropriate use of cloud architectural best practices, estimate cloud costs and identify cost control measures and solutions, provide tasking and oversight to other technical team members performing design and architecture, and provide technical clarity and direction to Cloud Iaas, PaaS, and SaaS Consultants, reviewing final work products for accuracy and adherence to design concepts.
